DALES are a fresh Los Angeles-based rock duo.
The group is comprised of Summer Set frontman Brian Dales and guitarist/producer Matt Beckley. The latter has a solid heritage in the music industry, having worked with Katy Perry, LOW, and Camila Cabello to name but a few.
According to Dales and Beckley, the project was formed to pay homage to the sound of Bryan Adams, Tom Petty, and Don Henley, and this comes across clearly in the duo’s sound.
To date, DALES have dropped three singles, all of them strong and unique. ‘Young For The Summer’ is an upbeat, feel good track that almost feels like the sonic version of a coming of age film.
‘Girls On Their Phones’ has a slightly more indie rock edge to it than ‘Young For The Summer’. The lyrics of ‘Girls On Their Phones’ paint a cynical picture of the modern dating scene, and the track has a great video as well.
Most recent single ‘Chateau’ is probably the most obvious homage to Adams, Petty and Henley released so far. It has a great 80s AOR sound to it. Again, the video is really creative.
DALES are our featured band this week on Good Music Matters. Now that you’ve been introduced, why not dig a little deeper?
In a couple of days, check back to read my exclusive interview with DALES. It was a fantastic conversation, and we covered loads of ground.
Until next time, enjoy the music!
